operating principle
When sewage passes through the carrier reactor, microorganisms in the water continuously attach and grow on the inner and outer surfaces of the carrier, forming a biofilm. The carrier freely rotates under the churning of the mixed liquid in the reactor. The biofilm fully contacts with the pollutants in the water and decomposes them, thus purifying the water quality. The churning of the mixed liquid and the movement of the carrier are achieved through aerobic aeration or anaerobic stirring.
During aeration, the upward buoyancy of the air bubbles drives the packing material and the surrounding water to flow . When the air flow passes through the gaps between the water flow and the packing material, it is blocked by the packing material and divided into small bubbles. It has increased the contact between the biofilm and oxygen and the oxygen transfer efficiency. The MBBR process can significantly reduce operating costs and energy consumption, while greatly enhancing treatment efficiency and shortening the water hydraulic retention time.
Features and Advantages
1. It is made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), which will not degrade when soaked in wastewater for a long time and is also toxic to microorganisms. It is superior to other materials such as polyvinyl chloride.
2. The special structure, the hollow packing structure, consists of three layers of hollow circles inside and outside. Each circle has one edge inside and 36 edges outside.
3. High specific surface area,The specific surface area of common microorganisms is 90-180, while that of hollow fillers can reach 600, and the double specific surface area can be as high as over 860. Due to the high specific surface area, the biomass per unit volume is high, which can achieve the purpose of short hydraulic retention time.
4. High activity of microorganisms. The microbial film growing on the surface of the packing material is due to the fluidization collision of the packing material. Aeration scouring keeps microorganisms in a highly active logarithmic growth period, resulting in high treatment efficiency.
5. The hollow packing is of floating type, easy to replace and has a long service life.
6. It has a strong ability to remove nitrogen and decompose organic matter, achieving the purpose of ammonia nitrogen removal.
